The Registration Requirements and Fees of The PMP

PMP Examination Registration Requirements:

Candidates must have at least 35 hours of the Professional Development Units about the project management training experience covering 10 major areas in the project management knowledge system.

PMP candidates must have one of the following two conditions:

Condition 1: Applicants with a bachelor’s degree or above:

The applicant is required to have at least 4,500 hours of project management experience within 6 years before applying, including five project management process groups (initiation process, planning process, implementation process, controlling process, and ending process), and to have participated in project management for at least 36 months.

Condition 2: Applicants who do not have a bachelor’s degree or below:

The applicant is required to have at least 7,500 hours of project management experience in five major project management groups (initiation process, planning process, implementation process, controlling process, and ending process) within the 8 years before applying, and to have participated in project management for at least 60 months.

Procedures for The PMP registration

After signing up for the PMP training in SPOTO, the professional educational administration team will be responsible for assisting the registration (including registration in English and Chinese, and you will be the representative of the registration if in English).

PMP examination content

Based on the sixth edition of PMBOK, the knowledge points come from the five process groups and the ten major areas of the knowledge, and the examination includes 200 multiple choice questions whose 25 questions are not scored.

The Registration fee of the PMP

The PMP certification is mainly divided into two parts. There are three kind of fees in total, namely the PMP training fee, the PMP examination fee (the PMP registration fee) and the PMP certificate fee every three years. The PMP training fee only needs to be paid once, which is submitted to the training institution. However, if you fail to pass the PMP exam for one time, a make-up examination will be required. And the examination fee needs to be paid again, but compared with the initial examination fee, it will be reduced. The PMP certificate fee needs to be paid every three years.

Now let’s come to the details of the PMP fees.

The PMP examination fee: The fee for the initial test is USD 594.39 and the fee for the make-up test is USD 381.02 for the ordinary PMP applicants.

The PMP training Fee: The PMP training fee varies from USD 304.81 to USD 685.83 depending on the faculty and the teaching mode of the training institution. This part is also divided into offline courses and long-distance online courses. The cost is also very different. The cost of the online courses are generally under the USD 457.22, and the offline courses will be slightly higher over the USD 457.22.

The PMP certificate fee: The PMP certificate fee is a certification cycle every three years after the PMP certification is obtained. The starting date is the exam date. After the certification period, if you need to renew the certificate, you need to pay a replacement fee of USD 150.

The above three fees, including the PMP examination fee (the PMP registration fee) and the PMP certificate fee are fixed. The cost of the PMP training fee varies according to the price of the training institutions.
